I started really enjoying accessorizing the minute I stopped thinking about it so much. I gave myself less time to contemplate, evaluate, and second guess my picks. Sometimes, I’m a less is more girl. Other times, I’m more is more. I think you can be both.

I recently went to Glass Tower Mall in Karachi, Pakistan, with my grandmother. Truly quite the place. I had no plans to purchase but of course that was a total lie. The shop was filled with cabinets of gems, which I created into rings, haath phools (hand chains), earrings, and tikkas (pendant worn on your forehead, usually for weddings).

It feels extra nice to wear something when you’ve designed it. It feels intentional. These pieces have enhanced the simplest of outfits, and make me feel polished.

I spotted these more modern, nautical pearl spiked earrings in the shop. Perfect to pair with summer linens - I relied on them heavily during my recent trip to Miami!

Or this ring duo to spice up a black tank and jeans - ideal for date night. A more traditional floral motif that you see in South Asian jewelry. Sipping a cocktail with these on is very fun. You can even do a little lipstick touchup in the makeshift mirror.

These earrings travelled with me to Barbados. A crisp white button down and these oxidized silver tassels kept me feeling cool. I love an East meets West moment.

And then some more traditional pairings at a wedding in Menorca this past summer. I was having so much fun!

All of this is to say that when you have time, go through your jewelry… There are many gorgeous pieces you’ve probably forgotten about and once purchased for a look that you never got to bring to life. You’ll find yourself curating vs. caving into trends.
